The second origin is medieval job descriptive for a maker or seller of jobs, used particularly for 'Flambards' i.e. the flamming torches required for lighting. The name development includes Andrew Larman (1624), baptised at St. Andrews Holborn on July 7th of that year and Christiane Lairman who married William Clark at St. Martins in the Field on April 16th 1723. The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of Jane Larmount, which was dated 1581, married Thomas Middleton at St. Veclast Church, London, during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I 'Good Queen Bess' 1558 - 1603.
